"Smart mobility" and the regulation of urban mobility
The cases of Namur, Luxembourg and Lyon
Today's cities are facing a series of challenges, not least of which is mobility. How can we facilitate travel despite the growth in demand for mobility and the limitations posed by dedicated infrastructures? Many cities are trying to optimise travel conditions by harnessing information and communication technologies. Intelligent mobility‘ projects are flourishing all over the world - particularly in Europe - with the aim of aligning mobility demand and supply, monitoring municipal infrastructures and transforming citizens’ habits. This doctoral research will contribute to the empirical study and description of the implications of intelligent mobility as it is constructed locally. It will focus on three cities: Namur, Luxembourg City and Lyon.
