Interuniversity certificate in crisis management and emergency planning

 

The interuniversity certificate in crisis management and emergency planning organized jointly by the University of Liège (ULiège) and Louvain (UCL-Mons) with the support of the Walloon Region, aims to train field actors in the essentials dimensions of contingency planning and crisis management. This training is mainly intended for local administrations in order to meet their security needs and obligations. The target audience for this offer is therefore that of local authorities, mayors and aldermen, municipal secretaries, municipal officials in charge of emergency planning and communication and all the actors who may be involved in emergency planning and crisis management at municipal level.

The courses have been specially designed to train “generalists” in emergency planning and crisis management, the priority being to give participants the necessary tools to carry out their emergency plans effectively and efficiently and 'intervention. Each course session is organized over 6 days (either on the University of Liège campus or at the UCL-Mons Workshops): the last day is always organized at the Regional Crisis Center (Provincial Palace of Namur). The course program combines theory and practice. With more than 37 course hours, this certified training is currently worth 10 ECTS credits.

In addition to the interuniversity certificate, PlaniCom develops additional training modules on specific themes (large gatherings, crisis communication, etc.), an annual experience exchange platform, spaces for meeting and sharing of experience between risk professionals (PlaniCom conference).
